Trudie's Winnetka Backgammon Club Has Won the Illinois Challenge Cup!
For only the second time in the club's history, Trudie's Winnetka Backgammon Club hosted and WON the 44th edition of the Illinois Challenge Cup on Sunday, March 2nd at the Two Chefs restaurant in Bensenville, Illinois!
Our team was in the thick of it from the first round on, with both Bob Kamp and David Hanold winning all four of their matches. But it was two clinching fourth round wins by David Rockwell and Michael Peters that assured our team's victory. Well done and kudos to the team for their excellent play and to our club director, Bill Chibnik who handled all directing duties for the tournament.
Kudos to the team from the Springfield Club who finished a close second.
